Twilight 2009
The Chorus will be holding its annual Twilight Concert at 5:00 pm, on October 31th in Sage Chapel. The program will include Halloween themed music, including the world premiere of Libby Larsen's "Book of Spells," and an original piece by our very own Julia Adolphe '10, "Sheep in Fog." Tickets are $8 at the door or at the Willard Strait Hall Ticket Office.

Fall 2009 Auditions
Fall 2009 first-round auditions will begin on Sunday, August 23rd. Auditions will be held at the following times:

8/23, 8/24, and 8/25: Between 1:30pm and 7:00pm (auditions by signup only)
Walk-ins 8/26: 3:30pm-7:00pm
Walk-ins 8/27-8/28: 4:00pm-7:00pm

Please register and sign up for an audition time here. All auditions will be held in Lincoln Hall. Come to the eastern entrance (along East Avenue) and members of the various vocal ensembles will be waiting to greet you and take you to the correct audition room! Callbacks will be held the following weekend, on Sunday, August 30th. If you are unable to make any of the regular audition times, please notify us as soon as possible. Thanks!

Bernstein's Mass

This April the Chorus and Glee Club will join with the Cornell Theatre Department to perform Bernstein's Mass. Created for the opening of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Mass is an exploration of a crisis in faith. The production will also feature a children's choir, as well as dance and theatre performers. Mid-West Tour 2009

March 13th through March 21st, 2009.
The Chorus will embark on an eight day performance tour of the Midwest. Stops will include Chicago, Ann Arbor, St. Louis and Champaign, Illinois. Festival for Women's Choral Music

Lincoln Portrait

In honor of the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth, the Cornell University Wind Ensemble (Tim Reynish, conductor), Chorus and Glee Club(Scott Tucker, conductor) present Copland's Lincoln Portrait, with narrator David Feldshuh, the premiere of alum Norbert Palej's Whispers of Heavenly Death, and songs from the Civil War period, as well as music of Beethoven and Grainger. The event is free to the public.

Spring 2009 Chorus Auditions
The Chorus will be holding spring auditions on Thursday and Friday, January 22 and 23, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Lincoln Hall. The auditions are walk-in and no appointment is necessary. For more information about our audition process, please visit Auditions.

Christmas Vespers 2008
Posted December 2, 2008: The Chorus and Glee Club are proud to announce its annual Vespers concert, hosted jointly with Cornell United Religous Work and held in Sage Chapel on Sunday, December 7th and Monday, December 8th at 8p.m. There will be an excellent panel of speakers and a variety of music will be performed, including works from Handel's Messiah as well as traditional Christmas Carols. The event is free to the public.

Twilight Raffle 2008
Posted October 17, 2008: The Chorus will be holding an Ithaca-Themed raffle, to be pulled at the Twilight Concert at 5:00 pm, on October 25th in Sage Chapel. Twilight Concert 2008
Posted September 25, 2008: The Chorus will be performing its annual Twilight Concert at 5:00 pm, on October 25th in Sage Chapel. The program will include music from South America and Mexico as well as American and European folk songs. The concert will also feature the world premiere of the amazing Abbie Betinis' new work "Chant for Great Compassion." The piece was written specially for the Cornell University Chorus as a part of its ongoing series of commisions, "No Whining, No Flowers."

China Tour 2008 a Success
Posted April 11, 2008: The Cornell Chorus and Glee Club returned from its Spring 2008 tour of China on March 27. For 12 days the two groups travelled from Beijing to Shangai to Hong Kong, performing in concerts and holding workshops for local choirs and schools along the way. "One World in Song" Silent Auction and China Tour Fundraiser
Posted January 28, 2008: Please support the Cornell University Chorus and Glee Club's upcoming joint tour to China in March by attending the "One World in Song" Silent Auction: a night of music, entertainment and cocktails, on Friday, February 8 at Richards of Greenwich, in Greenwich, Connecticut. The Chorus will peform at the event, which features an impressive auction list with items including vacation packages, concert tickets and featuring an original Cartier ring. Please send RSVPs to Kristel Keegan, fm@chorus.cornell.edu, by January 31. Tickets are $25 each, but space is limited, so reserve your place now!

Chorus and Glee Club to Perform at Christmas Vespers
Posted November 26, 2007: The Cornell University Chorus will join the Glee Club and members of the Sage Chapel Choir for Sage Chapel's annual Christmas Vespers Services, to be held on Sunday, December 2, and Monday, December 3, at 8 p.m. The Christmas Vespers is a candlelit Lessons and Carols service with traditional readings by members of the Cornell community. Audience participation is welcomed during the familiar Christmas hymns. The Monday program is identical to the Sunday service, except that the readers will be changed. The Christmas Vespers is a free performance for all members of the Ithaca community.

Snow or Surf raffle a success!
Posted November 9, 2007: Thanks to everyone who participated in this fall's raffle. It was a great success and raised a lot of money for the this spring's joint tour to China! The two grand prize winners were selected on November 1 and have been notified. The Chorus and Glee Club appreciate everyone who has helped, and who continue to help us make this amazing opportunity a reality.
